Following the graduation of bachelor study at Marmara University Faculty of Law, Bilun Elmacıoğlu has completed her Master of Laws (LL.M) degree at University of Aberdeen in Scotland/U.K. focusing on International Private and Public Law.

 Then, she practiced as a lawyer registered at Istanbul Bar Association. Her main focus is maritime, law energy law and corporate law with wide range of experience gained in Shipowner and Oil&Gas companies.

 Her areas of expertise are concentrated particularly, maritime and logistics law including all charterparty and carriage of goods contrcats' disputes, cargo claims and ship arrests, sale and purchase of vessels, ship finance, new shipbuilding projects, incorporation of companies and ship flag registries, marine insurance, commercial and corporate law, international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, energy law, oil&gas agreements, joint operating agreements, farm-in agreements, FIDIC&EPC&NEC contracts, merger and acquisition, due diligence, personal data protection law (GDPR), all type of legal issues about oil field operations, labor law and employment, environmental law, restructuring, compliance, tax, regulatory and human resources issues within company practices.

 She is a visiting lecturer at Piri Reis University Maritime Faculty, teaching Maritime Trade Law.

 She is a registered Mediator in Turkey and mainly focusing on international disputes, maritime, energy and labor issues. She is also registered in Energy Law Research Institute Mediators list as an expert mediator.
